Fred CREDIT ³²

  General Notes:

Searching the ancestry archives yielded little or no information about his family. Fred Credit appears in the 1920 census, 1890 Marriage License, and 1940 Death Certificate with the name Fred Credit, and  Fred Credit, age 9, appears in the 1880 US Census for Woonsocket, RI along with his family. The census, marriage license, and death certificate indicates Fred Credit was born in Three Rivers, Canada.  Further investigation determined the male with name "Liboire Edouard Alfred PELOQUIN-CREDIT", with the same birthday and birthplace, was indeed Fred Credit. This information corresponds with the 1880 RI Census.
Marx family history is that Fred Credit came to Springfield as a teenager and was known in the family as "the horse thief from Canada". This information would explain how/why Fred Credit came to be in Springfield, IL just a few years after showing up in the 1880 RI census.

Fred married Martha W. SCHOLL, daughter of Martin SCHOLL and Anna, on 26 Nov 1890 in Springfield,IL.³² (Martha W. SCHOLL was born on 7 Aug 1872 in Illinois and died on 21 Feb 1928 in Berlin,IL ³⁶.)
